• If you have been married for over two years before you apply for your green card, you will receive a green card that will be valid for 10 years.

• If you have been married for less than two years when you apply, you will receive a greed also known as a conditional green card. This is valid for two years. After two years, you can apply to renew and get a 10-year green card.

How Do You Apply for a Marriage Green Card?

Once you have determined that you are eligible for a marriage-based green card, applying is a three-step process:

• Submit Form I-130 and supporting documents.

• Submit your green card application (Form I-485 or Form DS-260).
